The wine-maker stores the grapes just harvested in a special room at 4°C for 24 hours. Then he starts the temperature-controlled stainless-steel fermentation process and a soft ageing in bottle in term to preserve the freshness and the fragrance of the Riesling. Rïes is the direct fruit of the grapes. Enjoy!

Rïes is a new release for Riesling at Vistarino estate.

In fact for the first time we have blend 3 different vineyards in Rocca de’ Giorgi in term to achieve our goal: an unusual Riesling rich in aromas and mineral taste. The total surface involved in this project is 7,5 hectares facing south-west at an altitude of about 400 meters.

The soil is mostly calcareous (50%), clayey (35%) and sandy (15%). The average yield doesn’t exceed 70 q. of grape per hectare

Conte Vistarino

Carlo Giorgi di Vistarino introduced the pinot nero grape to the Oltrepo Pavese between the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, going on to win awards in both London and Paris for the sparkling wines thus produced. His work was taken further by Ottaviano and Carlo, and is today in the hands of Ottavia Giorgi di Vistarino.
